After taking a job with Rick Patrick Tree Care in 2001, Matt Baldwin became quickly interested in the different aspects of tree care and becoming a professional within the industry. In 2004, Matt became an International Society of Arboriculture Certified Arborist and continued to work for Rick Patrick until 2010. In the spring of 2010 Matt started Baldwin Tree Preservation (BTP). Matt started his business with the motto, "Less is More".  It seems like the more we try and intervene when caring for trees, the more problems we create. Through continuing studies and experience we are learning how trees function, which gives us a better idea of how to care for them.









Our vision has evolved since we started this journey but our mission has stayed the same: We are committed to environmental stewardship, conservation, sustainability and preserving our natural resources while following the standards of practice provided through the ISA (International Society of Arboriculture) and the American National Standards Institute (ANSI).

What is a Certified Arborist?

Certified Arborists are credentialed professionals who have achieved a level of knowledge in the art and science of tree care through at least three years of experience and have passed a comprehensive examination. This certification is granted and maintained through the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA). Certified Arborists are also required to continue their education in order to maintain their certification, ensuring their knowledge is updated on the latest arboriculture techniques.
